Project description: Over the last several years, the cloth simulation research made a big stride in the numerical stability and the realistic animation of a fabric patch or a simple toga like cloth. However, real garment that we wear everyday is far more complicated than a fabric patch. I’ve been working on a realistic garment simulation that demonstrates sharp creases, seams, buttons, and multi-layered clothing using the new contact model and implicit constraint techniques. Recent result from implicit constraint research has been successfully applied to simulate the sharp crease and its torsional and bending rigidity along the ridge of an iron-pressed cloth.
